Bach & Ragas

The evening will mix the power and serenity of Bach with the fragrant beauty and dazzling virtuosity of Indian classical Ragas. The programme will include haunting traditional folk music from Assam and Bengal contrasting with excerpts from Bach’s Partitas and Sonatas for solo violin. Amaan, Ayaan and Jennifer Pike will join forces for Ragas written by the great Indian musician Amjad Ali Khan bringing the musical cultures together in exotic timbral colour, fantastical rhythmic invention and boundless improvised virtuosity
